Case 114: Intrabiliary Mucin Producing Neoplasia (IMPN)

Clinical Presentation:

74 year old Korean woman with elevated serum bilirubin level.

MR: Typical massively dilated biliary system

Imaging Findings:

Thick slab 2D MRCP shows typical nodular lesions within the left bile ducts and a massively dilated biliary system including the common bile duct without extrahepatic obstruction. Combination of these findings is typical for intrabiliary mucin producing neoplasia (IMPN). Papillary tumors in the biliary system also had foci of cholangiocarcinoma.
