Case 116: Lymphatic Obstruction

53 year old man with early postoperative elevation of transaminases following orthotopic liver transplantation.

CT: Periportal fluid

Imaging Findings:

Severe periportal fluid represents lymphatic obstruction, due to disrupted lymphatic drainage at the porta hepatis. Note that there is no perceivable impairment of the lymphatic drainage along the hepatic veins (see coronal reconstructions below).
