Case 133: Neurofibroma, benign

Clinical Presentation:

21 year old man with a one year history of malaise and decreased stamina, and 6 month history of early satiety, abdominal distention and occasional emesis.

CT: Periportal encasement

Imaging Findings:

Large confluent lobulated homogeneously hypodense neurofibromas extending from the porta hepatis to the right and left lobe of the liver. Masses encase all larger portal venous branches, where they cause mass effect, the pancreatic head, gallbladder, common hepatic artery, and superior mesenteric artery.
