Case 141: Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE)
54 year old man with pancreatic cancer metastatic to the liver presents after treatment.
CT: Pancreatic adenocarcinoma metastases
An unenhanced CT one day after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) demonstrates lipiodol deposition around the periphery of the hepatic metastases. Notice also the capsular retraction resulting from prior chemotherapy. Biopsy of one of these liver lesions was consistent with poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. The pretreatment multiphase CT can be viewed here.
