Case 168:   Steatosis / Steatohepatitis

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

48 year old asymptomatic woman with hepatitis C.

CT: Acute hypodense swelling of the central zone of the liver

Imaging Findings:

CT shows a large area of central hepatic steatosis has low density on all phases. Note absent mass effect on vessels ("vessel penetration sign"), which is typical.
