Case 168:   Steatosis / Steatohepatitis

Clinical Presentation:

48 year old asymptomatic woman with hepatitis C.

MR: Central steatosis

Imaging Findings:

Opposed-phase GRE sequence demonstrates centrally hypointense parenchyma, typical for steatosis. Note swelling of the central fatty liver portions, typical for acute steatosis or steatohepatitis, with protrusion of the visceral surface of the organ.
