Case 172: Steatosis / Steatohepatitis
37 year old man with incidental finding in liver
CT: Typical, mass like, left lobe
CT shows incidental finding of a steatotic liver with a large area of fat sparing in segment 3, confirmed by MRI, mimicking a mass ("pseudotumor"). Fat sparing is this location is typically a result of third inflow from the gastroduodenal veins, replacing portions of the sinusoids. Note also typical subcapsular fat sparing in segment 4B.
