Case 179: Perfusion Abnormality (THAD/THID)
59 year old man with HCV and recent liver biopsy.
CT: Arterialized portal venous branch
59 year old man with HCV cirrhosis. The patient underwent percutaneous biopsy for assessment of diffuse liver disease. CT performed 2 months later to screen for malignancy demonstrates a small arterial-venous (AV) fistula at the biopsy site with a typical triangular THAD in that vascular territory as a result. A slightly tortuous arterial branch communicates through the triangular fistula with the portal venous branch. Note the arterialized contrast in the portal branch due to the AV fistula.
