Case 196:   Focal Nodular Hyperplasia (FNH)

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

28 year old woman with left upper quadrant pain with incidental finding on abdominal US.

CT: Central, typical

Imaging Findings:

Arterial phase CT shows a hyperenhancing central FNH with a central hypoattenuating scar.  FNH is slightly hypoattenuating to liver parenchyma on portal venous phase with persistent hypodense scar.  On equilibrium phase the FNH is isointense to the liver; the central scar is no longer visible because of its delayed enhancement.
