Case 206:   Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Clinical Presentation:

40 year old woman with a palpable right flank lump.

CT: Giant HCC, hypovascular

Imaging Findings:

CT shows hypovascular appearing large biopsy proven moderately differentiated HCC in the right lobe, without cirrhosis.

Compare to MR, where the mass is hypervascular with mosaic enhancement and demonstrates a pseudocapsule. All three features are characteristic for HCC and were not depicted on CT.
