Case 221: Biliary Cystadenoma
40 year old woman with an incidentally discovered lesion in the liver on CT done for lower abdominal pain.
CT: Typical, with enhancing septations
CT demonstrates a multiseptated biliary cyst adenoma in the left hepatic lobe with thin internal septations, confirmed by resection. Note the enhancement of the internal septations, which is an important finding in differentiating it from cystic echonoccocosis, where the septations are non-enhancing. Multilocular appearance on the last two images should not be confused with hydatid cyst WHO type CE2 or CE3.
