Case 222:   Metastasis - Neuroendocrine Tumor

Clinical Presentation:

52 year old woman with resected tumor of the caecum presenting for re-staging.

MR: Hypovascular, variably high T2 signal

Imaging Findings:

MR demonstrates multiple hypovascular hepatic metastases. These demonstrate variably high T2 signal, but consistently prolonged enhancement, representing fibrotic tumor components. Carcinoid metastases however are usually hypervascular.
