Case 237:   Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

19 year old woman with abdominal discomfort and weight loss.

CT: Large, with necrosis and pseudocapsule

Imaging Findings:

CT shows large typical HCC in a non cirrhotic liver occupying almost the entire right lobe and segment 4 of the left lobe, therefore causing bile duct dilatation of the left lobar bile ducts. Biopsy showed moderately differentiated type. Note areas of hypervascularity and large arteries next to necrotic portions. There is also a thin pseudocapsule, best seen on equilibrium phase.
