Case 262: Gallbladder Carcinoma (primary)

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

51 year old woman with right upper quadrant pain.

CT: With intrahepatic perforation

Imaging Findings:

CT demonstrates significantly thickened gallbladder wall with progressive fibrotic enhancement, representing resection proven gallbladder carcinoma. Non opaque gallbladder stones (better demonstrated on MR). The tumor has perforated focally into liver segment 5 (see focal sacculation of the gallbladder wall at 10 o'clock).

Stent within the common bile duct to decompress biliary obstruction due small second ductal mass (not shown).
