Case 28:   Cholangiocarcinoma

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

62 year old man presents with abdominal pain.

CT: Peripheral nodular and segmental growth pattern, with satellite metastases

Imaging Findings:

Multiphase CT demonstrates large confluent and predominately hypervascular cholangiocarcinoma with delayed enhancement. Note distribution pattern mainly in segment 8. Delayed enhancement is due to desmoplastic tumor stroma. Note the surrounding ring enhancing satellite lesions around the dominate mass, also demonstrating delayed enhancement. Biopsy of the dominant mass confirmed poorly differentiated cholangiocarcinoma.
