Case 30: Eosinophilic Cholangitis

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

70 year old Ethiopian woman presents with abdominal pain.

CT: Eosinophilic, presumably from liver fluke

Imaging Findings:

Multiphase CT reveals multifocal ill defined hypovascular lesions, spreading along the portal tracts, with surrounding THAD due to reactive hyperemia from occlusion of the distal left portal vein. Biopsy was consistent with eosinophilic cholangitis, presumably due to liver fluke (fasciola hepatica).
