Case 329:   Focal Nodular Hyperplasia (FNH)

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

38 year old woman with 2 year history of intermittent epigastric pain.

MR: In steatosis, no scar, Gd-BOPTA

Imaging Findings:

MR shows FNH in segment 2/3 in steatosis with diffuse parenchymal signal drop out on the opposed-phase image. FNH is hypervascular on arterial phase and hyperintense on the 90 minute delayed hepatobiliary phase with Gd-BOPTA, indicating the presence of functioning non-fatty hepatocytes.
