Case 344:   Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

64 year old man with history of chronic hepatitis C.

US: Typical, mixed echogenicity

Imaging Findings:

Ultrasound shows a mixed hyperechoic and hypoechoic HCC in a cirrhotic liver. A mass with mixed echogenicity in a cirrhotic liver is typical, but not specific for HCC. The round echogenic component of the mass has no correlation to any alterations on the CT and MR of this case.
