Case 37:   Metastasis - Colorectal Cancer

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

53 year old man with adenocarcinoma of the colon, status post extensive chemotherapy.

CT: Small, with calcifications, fibrotic, following chemotherapy

Imaging Findings:

Multiphase CT reveals multiple calcified hepatic metastases with areas of adjacent capsular retraction, mimicking cirrhosis ("pseudocirrhosis"). Some lesions demonstrate enhancement on the equilibrium phase only, suggesting desmoplastic tumor components, typically treatment effect.
