Case 378: Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Clinical Presentation:

65 year-old man with history of colorectal carcinoma metastasis in the right hepatic lobe. Surveillance 12 months following radiofrequency ablation performed in another institution.

CT: Local tumor recurrence of hypervascular metastasis with washout

Imaging Findings:

Portal venous phase CT demonstrates avascular ablation zone with enhancing local residual/recurrent tumor portions at the posterior rim of the ablation zone, confirmed by tracer avidity on FDG-PET (arrows).
