Case 5: Abscess (pericholecystic)
72 year old woman with clinical signs of acute cholecystitis.
CT: Loculated abscess next to gangrenous gallbladder
Gangrenous cholecystitis and liver abscess. Patient was operated. Pathology revealed acute cholecystitis with adjacent liver abscess in segment 4 and 5. Note multiple loculations but no distinct solitary abscess wall, representing transition between acute and subacute abscess.
