Case 55:   Cirrhosis

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

56 year old man with end stage liver disease.

CT: Confluent fibrosis, left lobe

Imaging Findings:

CT shows alcoholic cirrhosis and severely distorted liver parenchyma. Note typical strong enhancement of confluent fibrosis in the left lobe on the equilibrium phase, causing tethering of the falciform ligament and anterior abdominal wall. Confluent fibrosis like this example may mimic fibrotic tumors, such as cholangiocarcinoma.
