Case 56: Focal Nodular Hyperplasia (FNH)
42 year old obese woman with incidental finding in segment 6.
CT: In hepatic steatosis
CT shows biopsy proven FNH in segment 6. The lesion is hyperdense on all phases due to hepatic steatosis. The smaller denser focus of enhancement represents a small central artery ("spider artery"). Compare to the hyperenhancing FNH to the area of fatty sparing along the gallbladder fossa without hyperenhancement.
