Case 59: Metastasis - Gallbladder Cancer
70 year old man with incidentally diagnosed gallbladder carcinoma after cholecystectomy.
CT: Hypervascular, rim enhancing, necrotic
The patient underwent chemotherapy after initial diagnosis. Eight months later, the patient presented with multiple hypoattenuating ring enhancing intrahepatic lesions. Biopsy of one of the masses confirmed metastatic poorly differentiated carcinoma. Peripheral hypervascular and delayed rim enhancement is related to neoangiogenesis and fibrotic components at the same time.
