40 year old man with cirrhosis from Hepatitis C
CT: Fibrotic hemangioma, in cirrhosis
40 year old man with hepatitis C and cirrhosis. Asymptomatic small atypical hemangioma in segment 7 was diagnosed on explant following orthotopic liver transplantation. In contrast to typical cavernous hemangiomas no classic centripetal contrast enhancement is observed. Instead incomplete asymmetric enhancement is seen, only partly following blood pool enhancement. Note small feeding artery on arterial phase. Hemangiomas in cirrhosis are relatively rare.
