Case 81: Hematoma
61 year old woman with right upper quadrant pain
CT: Subcapsular, acute
61 year old woman with spontaneous subcapsular hematoma of the right lobe. No trauma as per the patient. No underlying mass identified up to 9 months after initial event. Typical scalloping of adjacent liver parenchyma. Spontaneous hematoma is indistinguishable from traumatic hematoma. Note perifocal transient hypervascular perfusion anomaly on arterial phase due to mass effect of subcapsular hematoma (arrowheads).
