Case 93:   Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Diagnostic Category:

Clinical Presentation:

56 year old man presents with jaundice.

CT: Infiltrative HCC with portal venous invasion and reactive perfusion anomaly

Imaging Findings:

Mutiphase CT reveals ill defined infiltrative HCC in the right and left lobe. The masses are hypovascular, but involved areas show hypervascularity with washout due to concomitant portal venous invasion.

Note right portal vein invasion with minimally expansile tumor thrombus causing large transient hepatic attenuation difference (THAD).
