Case 94:   Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Clinical Presentation:

60 year old man presents with abdominal pain and jaundice.

CT: Infiltrative HCC in cirrhosis with left portal venous tumor thrombus

Imaging Findings:

Mutlphase CT reveals an ill-defined HCC in segment 4 with portal venous invasion. The mass and tumor thrombus are inseparable. The entire left lobe is hypervascular secondary to occluded left portal vein. Note the expansile and vascular tumor thrombus in the left portal vein with is enhancing representing neoangiogenesis.
