Case 96:   Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Clinical Presentation:

35 year old man presents with abdominal pain.

CT: Hemorrhagic HCC

Imaging Findings:

Multiphase CT reveals a large hepatocellular carcinoma in the left lobe, moderately differentiated. The first four images show the mass one month after perforation, with hypervascular components, necrosis and subcapsular residual hemorrhage anteriorly and posteriorly. The fifth image shows the mass at initial diagnosis at a different anatomic level with perihepatic fluid as a result of intraperitoneal hemorrhage.
