Case list for Hereditary Hemochromatosis (HH)
There are 2 CT cases with this diagnosis.
45 year old man with biopsy proven hemochromatosis and cirrhosis. Attenuation coefficient of the unenhanced liver is 90HU (45-75 HU is normal). Note that blood pool appears hypodense even on the equilibrium phase. Note also atrophic portions of right lobe.
Biopsy proven hemochromatosis, C282Y homozygote genotype. CT shows attenuation coefficient of the unenhanced liver of 90HU (45-75HU is normal). Note that liver is cirrhotic and has higher attenuation than blood pool even on equilibrium phase.
